Description

A CANISTER COMP E3, or evaporative emission (EVAP) canister, is part of a vehicle's emissions control system. It's a container filled with activated charcoal that absorbs fuel vapors from the gas tank, preventing them from escaping into the atmosphere. When the engine is running, the fuel vapors are drawn into the engine and burned as fuel.
